Deposits are regular periodic deposits of a fixed amount into an account that grows at a constant rate over a fixed number of years, such as an investment club or a regular savings plan. The parameters for Deposits are:

Example: To calculate the annual interest rate required to have $225,000 after 20 years of monthly deposits of $300 ...
1. Click on the (Deposits) tab in the top row of tabs in the FinancesOSX window.
2. Click on the (Annual Interest Rate) tab in the second row of tabs.
3. Enter "225000" in the {Value at Maturity} field, "300" in the {Deposit Amounts} field, "12" in the {Deposits/Year} field, and "20" in the {Number of Years} field. Tabbing is permitted between fields.
4. Click on the [Compute Interest Rate] button. The interest rate of "9.90%" then displayed in the {Compute Interest Rate} field. This answer can be copied to the clipboard.
The calculated total number of Deposits (# deposits x # yrs) is limited to a minimum of 1.0. If the chosen parameters in the Deposits/Yr or # Yrs tabs result in a total number of deposits less than 1.0, an error message is displayed.
