Weight2Weight
Projection
The Projection panel calculates either the number of days required to reach a given weight or the weight after a specified number of days, starting with the Current weight while consuming the Calories/day required to maintain the New weight. The associated BMI for the projected weight is also displayed. The Projection panel calculations are not updated when the [Calculate All] button is clicked on the Weight2Weight screen. The Projection panel [Calculate] button must be clicked to update the Projection panel results. The Projection calculations need only the values for [Current weight], [New weight] and [Height], plus a value for either [# Days] or [Weight]. It is not necessary to click the [Calculate all] button after changing [Current weight], [New weight] or [Height] to use the Projection panel, although this is generally a good practice to minimize possible confusion. Example 3. Set the preferences to [English] units, [Male] sex, [HarBenMcArd] for Cal/day/lb and [Sedentary] activity level using the Preferences panel. Enter "215.0" for [Current weight], "175.0" for [New Weight], "70.0" for [Height] and "45" for [Age]. Click the [Projection] button to open the Projection calculation panel. Make sure the [# Days] checkbox is selected, enter "180.0" for the [# Days]. Click [Calculate all] to see the [New Cal/day] result of 2091 and the estimated 11.12 Cal/day/lb to maintain the new weight of 175 lbs. Now click the [Calculate] button on the Projection panel to display 202.2 lb for [Weight] and 29.0 for [BMI.] This is the estimated weight and BMI that will be reached by a 5' 10" 215 lb sedate 45 year old male after 6 months consuming the 2091 Calories/day required to maintain a weight of 175 lbs, according to the Harris-Benedict-McCardle equations for Cal/day/lb.
