Refrigerator temporary power
« on: September 29, 2020, 12:06:32 AM »
I have a 2007 Contessa Bayshore 42 ft, C-9. I am having some paint work done and want to keep the refer functioning during the process. While in the paint booth, can I put the refer (Dometic NDA 1402 autodefrost) in AC mode and plug the refer power cord and ice maker power cord directly into a 110 outlet? Each night, the coach will be backed out of the paint booth and plugged into 50amp service.

I don't know your fridge at all.  Ours is a Norcold LRIM1200 that runs on 120v/12v or propane/12v.  My guess is your answer is up to the paint shop technician.  Does he allow your coach to have any power on while in the paint booth?  If so, then ask him about your plug-in idea.

No reason that it shouldn't work unless paint shop has issue with AC. Alternative is to get a couple of hunks of dry ice and put in reefer and 2 in freezer. As long as doors are closed they should do the trick.

David and Steve, Thank you for your response. Paint shop has no problem with plugging in. Steve, great idea with the dry ice. As always, thanks for your help. Regards, Albert
