GFCI issue
« on: October 19, 2020, 03:03:03 AM »
We have a GFCI on our 2002 Marquis Tourmaline that keeps tripping. We thought it was old and might be weak so we replaced it with a new 20amp. It still is tripping. It is one that is is in the bay in the middle of Coach not far from the inverter. As near as we can tell it has the passenger side outlets in the bedroom and the bath outlets, the lamp table in the living room and all the audio cabinet accessories (tv, receiver, dish etc) on it. We have turned off all those draws off the GFCI outlet in question and there is still something drawing 7 amps off of it when checked with the tester. What could possibly be drawing that ampage? As a side note, and I don’t want to even mention this because logically it can’t be related, but this only happens when our basement AC’s are on. Any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA

   Hi Roy,

I believe the icemaker solenoid outlet is also daisy chained on that circuit. Try unplugging that cord from the back of the refer. Hope this helps, Fred

    Roy,
If you can go to "Coach assist" under private members, on page 48 of 59 of 2003 Marquis wiring you will see all the circuits that feed off the sub-panel in your basement that come from the inverter. This will help you to "divide and conquer" where the issue is. Hope this helps< Fred
