Ok....I found a pdf document dated 2006 that is later than the 2001 version that is in Coach Assist.  I can't upload it here because it is 422kb and we are limited to 300kb.  I am happy to send it along if the moderator would like it.

Just as a followup...I still haven’t found the controller box but a few weeks ago, while driving on a horribly bumpy road (Rte 10 east of Beaumont, TX), everything started working again. The cruise control and wipers have worked flawlessly since.  I suspect a bad connection somewhere.  When I get time, I will try and trace it down, but for now, I am happy they work.

Peter, our controller box for the smart wheel is located  in the front electrical bay on the front fire wall. One tip would be to pull out each plug on the box and spray with contact cleaner to avoid future problems.

In the left front electrical bay is one of the first places I looked.  There is nothing mounted on the forward bulkhead.  I suspect it is in the space under the console to the left of the drivers seat.  There is an access panel but it is so tight between the panel and the seat, I would need to be a contortionist to be able to access anything there.  I hesitate to remove the faux wood cover that contains all the switches, Allison shifter, etc., as I doubt there are service loops for the wiring.

Peter,
removing the drivers seat next to the console compartment allows easy access to control module. It is not that big of a job. If memory serves me right, I believe there are 4 or 5 bolts into floor and 2 or 3 electoral plugs. A extra hand is handy to remove seat, as it is awkward and heavy for one person, but doable. Hope this helps.
