Marquis Shower door adjustment
« on: January 21, 2021, 06:42:04 PM »
I have a 2004 Marquis with the curved shower door. It won't stay on the lower track anymore when I close the door. It appears the upper rollers eccentric adjustment bushings are worn and I cannot properly adjust the door. I called a part supplier on the East coast. $200+ each for replacement rollers.  Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.  Bob 541 253-6240

   Robert,
Is the upper rail bowed downward above the entry opening? Do you drive with the door in the closed position? The reason I ask is the door weighs about 70 pounds and the drive axle is pretty close to the shower location. This shower was never intended for the constant "pounding" it endures in transit. It was originally engineered for a house. See if you can partially disassemble and flip the pot metal joints to the rail to restore the original plane. The rollers have 2 adjustments. eccentric for the height and lateral to line up the post magnet. Quite the adventure but repairable, Fred

The rail appears to be somewhat flexible. It might be minable bowed, but not much. The rollers adjustment mechanism bushings are loose. The eccentric has a lot of play. When I close the door it comes loose from the lower track.

Robert,

if you have the adjustment on the roller set at the highest point and the bottom clip still won’t stay engaged, then you will need new rollers or as Fred said above, flip the pins over, inside the hollow tubing, to raise back up to original position. The rollers are getting hard to come by, and when you do locate them, they are very pricey$$$. Also, there is a plastic tract on top of the railing, it must be in good condition, or the door will not open/close properly. I believe the plastic tract is also still available. Hope this helps.

The rail should not be loose at all. It should follow the same "arc" from fully open to the closed position. You may have to loosen the fixture to partially remove the rail to figure out how to secure and stiffen it. Most of us with this shower have wrestled with a similar repair. Once aligned, stow the door over the fixed panel and secure in place. I use pins with a little spring loaded ball bearing to trap the door. Hope this helps, Fred
