Loss of directional signals, brake lights & Hazzard
« on: March 16, 2021, 11:55:03 PM »
Lost directional signals and brake lights on my 07 Patriot Thunder. happened while driving. Also hazzard flasher doesnt work.  All worked when I hooked up to my Toad.  Can't locate any fuses or relays, likewise the flasher module.  Have looked in every possible location.  Any Suggestions? Thanks

Bob,
I don't think it is a relay or fuse as the circuits are separate. Check the flat connector(s) at the rear of the coach that feeds the rear lights as all signals come thru it (M31 on diagram). If OK id' look for a faulty ground as those indicators share the same ground signal. It comes in on pin "c" of M31. Try applying a sperate gnd to one of the lamps to determine if that is the problem. The diagram is on pg 193 of the 2007 Pat Thunder wiring diagram in Coach Assist.
Steve
If the hazard and turn signals are out both front and back we have a different problem.

As Steve was saying the wiring diagrams are in coach assist under 2007 Patriot thunder page 193.
You will see that the hazard lights, brake lights and signals are tied together through the steering column at the turn signal switch it's not uncommon for the hazzard switch to get jarred and hang up between connections try switching the hazards on and off several times and then check your lights again if that doesn't correct anything check the wiring connectors at the base of the steering column for loose or burnt connections.
Let us know what you find

Bob, is your coach the analog or the circuit board version?   Seen both in the 07.  Another member with an 08 had this problem and it turned out to be a 15 amp fuse on the main board in the front run bay.  I would look for a similar one in that bay on ours.
Have you disconnected the towed ?  I have misaligned the connector cable to the car and my lights no longer worked but something clicked in the back run bay after I unplugged like a relay.
Don’t mean to contradict the anybody just my experience.

Got it!  Thanks Keith.  It was a 15 amp fuse.  This forum is great, people are so willing to help in any way they can, just another example of the benefits of BEAVER ambassador Club membership.
Also another thanks to Eric and Steve.

Bob,
Did you connect / disconnect the toad or drive in rain before finding problem? Something caused the fuses to blow.??

At the end of 1st. Travel day, the battery was dead in my Toad. I discovered that the power cord was partially disconnected from the coach. I evidently did not have the connector latch fastened. Perhaps when the connector came out a partial short or surge caused the fuses to blow. I secured the connection and drove the second day. On arrival the Toad battery was charged. So the charge line worked. Not totally sure why it happened.

Thanks. Not sure exactly what happened but making and breaking a connection multiple times while applying the brakes could have caused it. Thanks for the info.
