Window vents

Has anyone ever seen any side window vents like the one in the picture?  This is on a Beaver that is listed for sale and I thought they looked like they might allow a decent amount  with out as much noise as having the windows more than cracked.
Does anyone know where you can find them, or what they are called?

Most importantly do they work?

I think bus drivers call them toll booth windows or some such, usually only on drivers side. Looks like its part of the whole pass side window.

They actually had them on all of the large sliders, except the one that they put a TV in front of.  The drivers window didn't have one.  I am sure it is probably aftermarket, just interested in how it worked, if it was beneficial.

We have those on our '02 Contessa, driver's side only. It comes in handy when I have to have my ID card scanned when entering and leaving the storage compound. That coach is a mid entry model so they included one on the passenger side as well.

It is an integral part of the window assembly, not an add on. The back half slides forward and the front half is fixed. There is a sliding screen as well so it can be opened for ventilation.

Thanks again Eric,

Those look a lot like the ones in the picture.  Don't know if/when they will be back in stock, or how I messed them.  At least I have something to look for now though.

I seems that the side window vent louvers where made by Maxx excel under the Maxxair tag unfortunately they discontinued them several years back.

    Most RV manufacturers recommend that you do not drive with any windows open. This can create a negative pressure inside the coach. This can make P-traps burp and draw in holding tank odors to the interior. Another issue is that the coaches are not air tight and will draw in excessive dust and dirt. Hope this helps, Fred

I think several responders are misreading Carl’s question.  Unless I’m the one that’s mistaken, he’s talking about the vertical louvre inserted at the back of the lounge area window, just behind the copilot’s window.  The image renders small on this site, so you may have to zoom in to even notice the venting device.

You got it Joel,

They really look like the Maxxairs listed by Eric,  I guess they didn't work that well or they were not popular enough to continue to make.
