Bill, does your Coach use the Xantrex 2512 charger/inverter?

I have not had to troubleshoot anything related to the generator auto start on my Coach - so I may be wrong about the wiring, but it looks like the auto start feature is built into the Xantrex unit (not a separate module).

The Xantrex manual shows a "terminal strip" which is located in the Inverter unit (and there is another terminal strip located in the front electric bay) where the generator is connected to the Xantrex. There is no mention of a separate auto start device/module.

Do you have this terminal strip?

If memory serves, I believe you are correct, Mike.  Until its charging circuit went bad, we had a Xantrex Trace 2500w PSW inverter/charger.  When we had it replaced several years ago by a Xantrex Freedom 3000w PSW inverter/charger, the tech had to install an AGS module.  I think I remember he mentioned the Trace had its AGS built-in.  BTW, the remote panel for the Trace would not work for the Freedom unit, so also had to be replaced.

Mike, My coach came with the 2512, but I've replaced it with the PSW model, SW2012 to go with the residential fridge. Cloyd's coach (the OP) has the Magnum inverter, hence my comments about same.

My 2512 inverter did have the AGS built into the inverter, but the PSW SW 2012 requires a separate AGS module as well as a new remote panel, as David mentions in his post.

Mike,
I split this as you were hijacking Cloyd's Magnum AGS thread and starting to discuss Xantrex AGS systems.

For Steve Huber Co-Admin:
I read your ags start fix in common problems. One question I have is earlier I read about the incorrect wiring of the sense for the ags. I changed that to sense the house batteries but probably didn't do that like your instructions. I'm assuming that as long as I got the house batteries to the correct terminal on the ags module I should be ok to go to the second step.

Dale,
You should be OK as long as the ags is sensing the house batteries
