Albert,
I had a chance to speak with Gerald Farris this PM and mentioned your steering problem. Per Gerald, bleeding the system is not needed as the return would trap the air in the top of the tank and since the feed is at the tank bottom, no problem will result. He suspects either a faulty pump (most likely) or a clogged filter which he thinks is unlikely and if it was clogged you would have fluid leaks. Sorry for misleading you re bleeding.

Steve, No harm done, I think. We did bleed the steering gear, with engine running, with the front wheels off the ground with full turns right and left a few times. We got no air bubbles and there was virtually no pressure pushing fluid out, which I would think would indicate a pump problem.I located a pump at Beaver Coach and Sales (pricey) and am having it shipped to me. My problem now is I am stranded in Gunnison, Colorado and having trouble finding anyone to work on the problem. TransWest in Grand Junction, Co. Won't work on anything older than 2009 and Wagner Cat in Grand Junction sends all of their work to TransWest. I am now trying to work with smaller shops, but am a bit concerned about them being qualified. They all talk a good story, but I don't want them going to school on my coach.I want a shop who can check pump pressure, etc. I am also working with Good Sam's Roadside assistance to flatbed tow the coach to a qualified mechanic. This will be a costly tow on their nickel and I only get one tow on them, therefore picking the right shop is critical. If any one has any ideas, it would be much appreciated. Thanks again, to Steve, Joel and Gerald for your input.

Albert,

I live in Grand Junction. Humphries is by far the best of those listed. Getting scheduled in a timely manner is the challenge. Good luck.

Thank you all for your imput regarding my problem. I can't express my thanks enough for the dedication you all have in helping. I am very proud to be a member of our fine organization and whenever possible, I will do as you all have done, and offer my assistance to those in need. Update - I have a pump in hand, filters on the way, a diesel shop lined up and Good Sam's ready to tow the coach next Monday. I was told they load the coach on the flatbed trailer backwards, which I have never heard of or seen. That should be interesting. Thanks again.
