I tried to comment earlier this morning, but opted to wait until I could absolutely confirm things. We haven’t been well enough (long enough) to use Monty for over 4 years, and following recommendations I haven’t started it up. But during a 2019 family reunion I moved several slides out so visitors could use it overnight, and I’ve “bumped” a front slide once or twice when it crept out, I could swear I didn’t have to use my keys in the ignition to do it.
I just went out, turned on the battery mains, and moved both front slides. No ignition was required, so my elder memory functions are redeemed.
Regrettably that fact is of little use to Michael’s bro-in-law. But perhaps his coach is like Richard’s, and either Monaco changed electrical design mid-year (that never happens
), or a previous owner had some reason to rewire something. In fact, the slides should be inoperative if the engine is on, as Steve alludes to. Not that some of us haven’t experienced a popping-open slide on the road due to a faulty solenoid. 🤭
