Battery surge after using Inverter for 4 days
« on: July 09, 2021, 12:47:28 PM »
Dry camped for 4 days and used the inverter with no problem. The batteries ran down to 12 daily and I recharged with the generator. The last morning, I ran the generator to charge up the batteries, before getting on the road. I turned off the generator, then started the engine. TUrned back on the generator and the A/C to keep things cool. About 10 minutes after getting on the road, the inverter gave a warning alarm that I was not able to reset or shut down. The battery voltage read 16.3. I shut down the A/C and generator and the alarm continued to intermittently sound for the entire 3 hour ride home. Not sure why the battery would have surged since the generator was off. Any thoughts?

You may have an issue with the motorhomes engines alternator over charging .
