Jerry Carr:
Nice job Joel!.

I have made the trip many times over the years last year we did the trip in our 42 ft PT towing the saturn, no problem at all on the highway just take your time and since you have a toad use it for the touring you can find a few spots to pull over for a look out view that will be spectacular.

here are a few links that will help you.

It is a good trip down 101 and 1.  We had to try to find the place in Big Sur where my wife broke the news she was pregnant 41 years ago!

We (mostly me) wanted to be able to say we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge too.  It worked -- even the part following 1 through San Francisco.  Then along the coast further south.

No question that there are not some slow, tight turns.  You have to know where the wheels really are and not be embarrassed if you have to make room  for other traffic.

Rex Newell:
I suspect you are on your way South by now.  My wife and I have driven the coast highway from Mexico to Canada several times from our Oregon home.  As long as you are not in a hurry it is a delightful trip - but my wife prefers traveling to the North; that way she does not have to look over the many cliffs into the ocean.  If you are an "Elk" plan on using the many club RV parks along the way, particularly Wapiti at Lincoln City, Florence, Oregon Elks (5 miles north of town), Brookings Oregon Elks, Eureka California Elks, Petaluma California Elks, Monteray California Elks and Santa Barbara California Elks RV parks.

Randy Perry:
Just came back from a stay at the Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort. I would give it a thumbs up! 40' not a problem, but you don't want to take Hwy 9 from Hwy 1 to get there. You would want to take Hwy 17 from the 1 up and over then come down 9 to the park.

Jeremy Parrett:
My wife and I will be travelling this route in November  from Seattle WA to Los Angeles CA before heading to Puerto Vallarta ,Mexico for the winter.
We are really looking forward to it. A side trip to Bend OR for TV cabinet work is also planned.
