Keith,
The Aladdin VCM (controller) does control the camera switching. It uses left/right turn signal triggers and the engine data buss input (to sense when the transmission is in reverse) to determine which camera input to display. The turn signal triggers override the transmission trigger.
Ours occasionally gets out of sync, so far, resetting the Aladdin system will re-sync it.
It appears that Monaco changed the location of the Aladdin VCM for the 2006 and newer Marques and Patriots. On our 06 Thunder, there is a chase that runs the full length above the front cabinets. You can remove the large trim piece that is above the cabinets to expose this chase. The Aladdin VCM, cabling and several other components are on a shelf behind the trim. The trim piece is held on by cabinet door latches and industrial strength Velcro, you have to pull pretty hard to remove it, automotive door panel removal tools would be helpful. It is a tight fit on the ends, I would use blue tape to protect the cabinets at each end.
