When I try to drain my gray tank I hit the switch, it sounds like it,s opening but nothing comes out?

Any ideas?

Sounds like a stuck valve. Switch is probably OK as moter runs.

If you can access the valve, you can loosen the 4 mounting bolts by a 1/4 or 1/2 a turn and see if that does the trick. The trick is accessing those bolts. Good luck!

     Robert,
You can access the grey and waste valves only by removing the sheet metal fascia panel. The key to removing the panel is to remove the rear gas prop and support the compartment door with a dead man stick in the fully open position. The rear upper comes out first then move the panel around to gain clearance. It will tilt out enough to see the dump valve mechanisms. Some coaches have enough of a service loop in the plumbing to do the repair. On my coach, I ended up extending the plumbing hoses necessary to gain full access to the compartment. Because of the effort involved to get that far, I would recommend replacing the dump valves with new ones. Hope this helps, Fred

After getting access to the drain valves described in the prior post, you can use a small Allen wrench to mechanically open and close the valves.  The last time I checked on the price of the Drain Master valves, they were about $110 each.  They are designed to last about 6 to 10 years, depending upon frequency of use and proper use techniques.  The switch should never be held in place to either open or close the valve for more than about two seconds because the motors are easily burned out.

More on my experience - http://beaveramb.org/forum/index.php/topic,6459.msg47059.html#msg47059

To avoid a mess, once you get access to the drain valve and can mechanically open the valve, tip the coach over to the streetside a few degrees to help fully drain the waste tank,  Then tip the coach back to the other side a few degrees to keep any residual liquid to the far side of the waste tank.  And don't over tighten the four bolts that hold the drain valve in place. Over tightening the bolts will reduce the life of the drain valve and/or cause its operation to become intermittent.
