Basement heat from HydroHot
« on: March 07, 2023, 11:17:45 PM »
2004 Beaver Monterey Laguna 4

Question - I believe there is a radiant heat outlet in the basement of our RV. Does it function when “ Furnace” is selected in Zone 1 or does it operate at all times when Furnace is hot by either Diesel or Electric switch ?

Reason I’m asking is I had a water line leak and want to heat up basement to dry out.

There should be a heat exchanger in a tank bay, but not necessarily any “radiant” one.  It will have its own automatic thermostat nearby that turns the fan on at around 40 degrees, as long as the hydronic unit functions on electric or diesel to supply the exchanger with warm fluid.  Our ‘06 may have different components or design, but yours likely works similarly.  Our exchanger is in the waste tank/water manifold bay, curbside in front of the rear wheels;  the door has hidden draw latches along its bottom edge.  Warmed air can vector between rails over sector walls forward to adjoining bays, and into the water pump box.

Suggest you put an infrared heater set at 70 in your basement a couple days to dry up water.  Had a similar situation and the heater worked well.
