When we got to our new destination last week, our front slides would not go out on our 2008 Contessa. I removed the nut on the piston to be able to manually pull the slide out a very meager amount. I am just trying to understand what the components are that make it work. To me, it looks like a solenoid connected to a hydraulic pump. I barely had room to take a phot with my iPhone but was wondering about the correct fluid level in the reservoir. It appears to be above the horizontal line on the reservoir. I was able to remove the cap and stick my finger in the reservoir and get fluid on the end of my finger. When we push to switch to take the slide in, (which they are already in), there is a slight dimming of lights in the bedroom, which would seem to indicate some contact is being made at least on the, moving the slides in position. No dimming is noted when the switch is placed in the position to take the slides out.
Any clarification of component's and proper fluid level would be greatly appreciated.
