Generator breaker or fuse?
« on: September 18, 2011, 10:50:15 PM »
Can anyone tell me if there is a breaker or fuse for the generator in a 2000 Patriot?
When the generator was taken from the coach, the red hot lead was left dangleing. When we went to measure the box Jack brushed up against the lead and it contacted metal and sparked. Apparently we had power to that area then. Having finally installed the replacement generator, we went to test start. No power. Metering the red lead shows no power. Did we blow a breaker? A fuse? Is it in the transfer box?

I'm assuming that the red lead was the 12V large cable? If so that cable goes back to the battery compartment and may have a fuse in the top of the battery compartment that fits accross some small lug nuts. You may need to follow it back or use an ohm meter to see which lead it is fed by in the battery compartment and what fuse is involved.

The red lead for the 120V supply should not have had any voltage on it so I do not think that is the wire you are talking about.
