Hydro-Hot Expansion Tank Cap

(1/1)

Bob Dunlap:
Our 06 Beaver Monterey Ventura IV has the original Hydro-Hot water heater, which works just fine.  On a recent trip, I noticed a puddle beneath the unit and the expansion tank was empty.  I also noticed the cap on the expansion tank was split sideways preventing a good seal.  I made a hasty gorilla glue/tape repair and replaced the cap. No more leaks were present.  Once home, I contacted Hydro-Hot (now Aqua Hot) and asked about the cap.  They could only replace the entire expansion tank-not just the cap.  The cost was $140.  I found the cap on Amazon, part Number Dorman 924-1058.  It's an exact replacement for the original cap and only cost $7.00.
