Replacing AC seal
(1/1)
Fred Cook:
I need to access the bolts to my roof AC so I can replace the seal. Does anyone know how to take down the decorative ceiling wood fixture that also contains the mood lights?
Scott Shearer:
Fred,
I can tell you how the panel in our 2006 PT comes down, yours may be different.
On the perimeter of the panel, above wood trim, there are five 3/8” headed bolts that screw into ell brackets that hold up the panel.
There are three bolts on the driver side and two bolts on passenger side. In the center of the passenger side there is a hinge that allows the entre panel to tilt down.
The panel is a bit heavy and awkward, it would be beneficial to have a helper.
I don’t trust the passenger side hinge; I always secure it with some bailing twine.
A picture of your panel might be helpful.
Be aware that on some coaches, they used j-bolts to hold up the entire panel, it did not hinge down.

Yep... that's it Scott. Thanks!
