No A/C Thermostats

Fred Brooks:
Model 630516 is the original air conditioner. However if someone decided to replace the 5 button t-stat with a 10 button t-stat, they also had to change the original pc board in 630516 with a new pc board that was compatible with the new t-stat. Years ago there was a company out there that was rebuilding the 5-button t-stats. I am not sure if they are available. Personally, because these air conditioners are obsolete and there is no way to repair them, I would upgrade them with the newest models and 10-button t-stats. These are great Coaches and the engineering is far superior to the junk coming out of Indiana these days. Fred

I haven't tried the EasyTouch but do know finding a used 5button Dometic is very difficult. Chatgpt came back with below. Not sure if anyone has tried these as a 5button replacement?

From online search result:
To upgrade your specific system while keeping your existing Dometic 630516.321 AC units, you need:
   • Model: EasyTouch RV 357 (ASY-357-X01)
   • Compatibility: This model is the dedicated "drop-in" replacement for the Dometic 3109228.001 5-button thermostat. It uses the same RJ-11 (phone jack) connector and communicates with your existing AC control boards without needing any conversion kits.
Key Features of the ASY-357 Upgrade
   • No Rewiring: It uses the same cable and 3-wire setup already in your Beaver Marquis.
   • Remote Control: Adds WiFi and Bluetooth capability, allowing you to monitor and change the temperature from your phone via the EasyTouch RV app.
   • Multi-Zone Support: It will correctly handle the multi-zone configuration often found in high-end coaches like the Marquis.
   • Smart Detection: It automatically detects your furnace, heat strips, or heat pump sources.

Important Note for Installation
When you install the new unit, you will typically need to perform a system reset (similar to the original Dometic "Mode + Zone" reset) to ensure it recognizes all the AC units on your network. The Micro-Air unit usually does this automatically upon first power-up.

Carl Boger:
Bobby,

I have 2 of the easy touch RV thermostats.  I purchased them for their WIFI connectivity, but I really like the way they work either through wifi or blue-tooth.  I keep my phone mounted on the dash, and from the drivers seat I can turn on/off, adjust the temperature of either AC unit as long as the generator is running.  I can also turn the AC units on or off through wifi from my phone if I am away from the RV as long as there is a cell signal.  When I pull it up it lets me see the inside temperature and see if the dogs are comfortable or not.
For me this has been worth the money.  They have worked great for the last 5 years or so, and when one of the first ones didn't work correctly they over-nighted a replacement as soon as I contacted them.  Could not have asked for better customer service.

If you call them before you buy I am sure they will walk you through what will or will not work in your situation

Hopefully this will help you some.
