Air bags and shocks for Roadmaster M series
(1/1)
David E Iversen:
Hi All, New guy here posting for the first time, go easy on me! I just bought a 2004 Beaver Monterey (Coronado) about 4 months ago. My wife and I did some significant remodeling. Just got back from a trip and it definitely needs shocks and the air bags were noted to replace when I had service done at Premier RV. I have 2 questions, does anyone know of a place in or near Boise ID to replace 8 bags and shocks, or does anyone have any comments good or bad as far as Source Engineering in Eugene to do the work? Thought about doing it myself but I have no means to block up the coach safely.
Like I said in the intro I just returned from a trip in the coach. On my return the first thing I saw was my toad covered in oil and the back of the coach dripping of oil. It is at CAT right now. It was found to have a cracked cylinder head at the back of the head where a plug caps of the high pressure rail on the oil system. Any of you had that issue? Wow, expensive fix!

I can't help with everything, but I do know that Source Engineering has a good reputation, and they have taken the time to talk me through issues on the phone.
Honestly a good mobile tech may be able to change your air bags and shocks. With the wheels and tires off it isn't a terrible job as you then have good access.
Sorry to hear about your head issue.
Hopefully this will help you some.

If you’ve any funds left after the engine repair, for all things chassis you can’t beat club sponsor Henderson’s in Grants Pass. They can pre-repair/modification road test (RPA they call it) your coach and make honest suggestions. Our Monterey’s behavior was like night and day changed, with Koni’s, Safe-T-Plus, motion control units, and some tweaking. It rides and steers great and is safer. Family owned, service there is a good, confidence building experience beginning to end.
