Thermostat replacement

(1/2) > >>

Ted Couch:
We would like to replace the thermostats in our 1989 Marquis with digital if possible. We have read some forums that indicate it is not too difficult to put in a digital but wanted some reassurance from our Beaver friends. We can't read the letters on them anymore so need to make a change and would love digital if we can. Our front thermostat controls the furnace and air up front and the one in the back controls just the rear air. If anyone has made this conversion, what model thermostat worked for you? It seems like temperature accuracy would be much better, too. Thanks.

Richard And Babs Ames:
We went to digital thermostats when we changed to Dometic Penguin 15000 btu heat pump AC units on our 1997 Beaver Patriot with the Aquahot and now have two heat source choices. We had it done by a service point in Punta Gorda, FL and was very pleased.

Dick Simonis:
I also am planning on changing the thermostates to digital and am just about ready to call Beaver Coach with that exact question.  In theory it's quite simple but getting the two speed fan control seems to be the tricky part.

Richard And Babs Ames:
You actually have Hi and Lo continious Fan setting and Auto that comes on when the AC cycles.

Right, that is on the existing analog units.  Problem I'm having is finding a digital replacement with high/low settings.
