A quick update ... if you are in need of just the strikes (the "ball" mechanism that attaches to the door), try sending an email to sales@sugatsune.com.  I had 2 of these mechanisms that had broken over the 13 years and by contacting the manufacturer directly, obtained 5 replacement strikes for $0 ... that included shipping and everything!  Another example of GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
