BLUERIDGE PARKWAY

We are considering our route to the New York rally in Sept.  Has anyone traveled the Blueridge Parkway in their motorhome?  In some of the books we've read, it recommends the scenic trip, but we read on the internet that there are some overpasses too low for the coach. Anyone know from experience?

Thanks,

We advise against taking your RV on the Blueridge Parkway. There are lots of ups and downs. It's 2 lanes. There are tunnels you have to drive down the middle to get through. It's scenic. It's NOT designed for RVs. It was built back in the 30s. Better drive your car along the Blueridge while your RV is safely parked in a CG. We have stayed near Asheville a number of times and taken the car along the Blueridge to see the sights. It's definitely worth seeing. But our suggestion is to travel along other roads and find CGs along the way. Then drive up in your car to see that section of the Blueridge.
