It is a good unit and being made for marine environment it will last much better in the battery compartment then an Echo Charger. You are in a good place with that unit....if my Echo Charger bites the dust that unit would be high on my list given it is so well sealed. Behind the wheel wash in the battery compartment while driving and then with the fumes from charging while sitting, it is a pretty hostile environment for electronics.

A new ANL 120 fuse from NAPA PN 782-1247 restored normal charging.  I'm fairly sure that the alternator replaced on the side of the road was unnecessary but having a new alternator isn't all bad.
