I'm giving this another chance.  Bought another bulb today which is 10W.  I will install it tomorrow.

I don't know when my bulb burned out but it is out ----- for the 4th time in less than a year.  So ---- I'm not replacing it period.  I have a flashlight handy for when I need to rummage through the frig.

This is just one of those apparently unsolvable problems with a motorhome.

Richard,

These are some LED type with a rated life of 80k hours and a temp spec that is compatible with the frig. My guess is when you open and shut the door the filaments get a vibration shock and these bulbs do not have heavy duty filaments so they break. There is not enough hours to burn them out so it is vibration.

A pair of the LED type are on sale for $12.95. These will last well if you change your mind and want to end  the flash light routine...
