transmission temp

Our 06 Monterey has started running a trans. temp of 192-204 and the engine temp can change rapidly from 178to 199 and back. The radiator looks clean and I have flushed the fins. One thing  I have noticed is that the electric fan is never running when I stop to look with the temp as high as 206.  I'm not sure but I thought that it was to provide additional cooling when temps are too high but I am not familiar with the type of setup with the radiators stacked like they are.  Any ideas would be appreciated.
 
Forgot the temp is an issue while driving on the level at 62 mph and outside temps are 80

Roger, Don't think your temp changes are that unusual.  Are you running Transynd transmission fluid?  Saw a big difference when I switched to synthentic.  Also when you start running hot, down shift so you get your RPM's up, this will cool the engine quicker.

I have the transynd fluid in last year.  I just thought that 200 degrees with little load was a bit much and also wondering about when the electric fan should run

Are you referring to the electric A/C condenser fan. If so, it runs only when the high pressure side of the dash A/C system has a pressure high enough to activate its control switch.

The top photo is of the electric AC fan on the outside, Roger;  in this instance it shows what happens from relying on the factory mounts of an '06 Monterey.  The photo in the next post is the hydraulic fan on the inside of the radiators.
I'm not sure your temps are out of line, but the engine variability under consistent ambient conditions seems curious.

So the trans. temp of 200 is ok?  I was really concerned about that high a temperature,

 Joel, is there a better way to mount the fan?
