c9 cooling system
« on: August 09, 2014, 01:37:39 AM »
I need to flush the cooling system in our 2007 c9 cat. Can anyone tell me where the cooling system filter is located.  I plan to replace the coolant with DEAC coolant rather than change to ELC. Any help will be appreciated.

Don,
I am not sure that your C-9 has a coolant filter. Many of the 3126 engines did not use a coolant filter, but they were not wet sleeved engines.

Not sure why you wouldn't go with ELC, Don, given it's life is twice that of DEAC.  Regardless, I believe that Gerald is right;  my C9 CAT manual makes no mention of such a filter.

Joel, after going through the process to flush the coolant system, I decided it made sense to replace the coolant with ELC. The job is done. thanks for the comments.
