Rear End Alignment

For the first time since taking delivery of our 2006 Patriot Thunder (42' with tag), Nancy was following behind in the toad and says the coach seems to be "crabbing" when traveling down the road.  The rear end doesn't appear to be tracking directly behind.  I found a post from 2011 on the need for a rear end alignment bar change on a Monterey.  We just had the front end aligned in Bend and they indicated the tow was out about 1/2". Could that realignment now have created this rear end issue or are they independent of one another.  Any wisdom would be appreciated.

Allen,
Resetting the toe-in on the front axle will not cause the dog tracking condition that you are referring to.

I have the same problem with my coach.  I have been to two different alignment specialists and they both confirm my wheels are in alignment, i.e., front, back and tag axles.  The body was put on the frame slightly misaligned.  Some others have actually had to have had the rear axles moved to get the coach in alignment.  Larry Shirk is a good example.

Where are you at? A good frame shop with proper equipment and know how like JoSam in Orlando will correct it.

Richard is right. I took my Contessa to Josam in Orlando several years ago for a three axle alignment, and the tag and drive axles were both out of alignment. They put the coach on a big frame, clamp it down, then heat and straighten the axles. The difference in drivability was incredible. Mt tire wear problems were corrected and it is almost a "hands-off" drive now.

After I discovered the misalignment of my rear axle, I noticed Mike and Mary Collins' coach was crabbing ahead of me.  They had it checked and found the same problem.  The rear axle was moved over, which also required the tag to be cut off and moved over also.  It can become involved.
