Michelin Tires

I am getting ready to buy 2 new steering tires and I am wondering where in the Phoenix area to get tires that I can use the FMCA Michelin Advantage program. Has anyone purchased Michelins in Phoenix? Also is anyone running the Michelin X Coach HL Z? I have plenty of tread on the steering axle now but the tires are timed out and have small weather chex starting to show up.

As to the Phoenix question, I don't know.  But I was running Michelin XCOACH tires and found them to be undersized regarding weight bearing capacity.  I switched to Dunlop 315/80R22.5 on the steering axle.  The XCOACH tires at full pressure of 123 psi maxed out at about 8,270 lbs (was it?) and my coach when full of fuel and fresh water was just over that XCOACH capacity.  The 315s at 130 psi max out at 9,090 lbs (I think it is), and these 315s are cheaper by a couple hundred dollars per tire.  ...something to look at...  I still have the 295/80R22.5s on the other six spots.  Ohhh... also, you need to have 9 inch wide rims to get the full weight bearing capacity out of the 315s.  Many, if not most, Beaver coaches have 8.25 inch width rims (I think).  My coach has 9 inch rims in all eight spots.  I will need to replace the other six tires within a year or so too.

        Your front axle is only rated for 15,300 lb . If you lower your tag axle air pressure you can lower weight on front end. If your coach is not over weight.

Yes, Dan, I did that but do not know how much the front axle weight has been reduced.  I have not been by a free scale yet.  I reduced the axle pressure from nearly 35 down to just over 25 psi.
