Sliding Table

Hello. I have a 2003 Marquis that has a sliding table with and insert extension.  My problem is that when the table is in the extended configuration the table slides in and out quite easily.  There doesn't appear to be a locking feature to keep it from doing so.  Does anyone have a nifty fix for this?

Michael,

I think there are two sliding pieces of wood that are in close proximity as part of the mechanism. I do not know if it will work in this case but at times I have used the old style double hung wood window locking mechanism to hold things in a fixed position. Home Depot or Lowes has them if one can be worked into the mechanism.

I had same problem in my 2000. A couple of bungee cords around the table mechanism solved it.

Amazon to the rescue again!  Do a search on 'table leaf lock'.  I've used this type on several leaf tables.  Pulls sections together with a cam action.  Don't forget to use the BAC Amazon link

Thanks everyone.  I found that the problem was that the slide mechanism doesn't have a way of locking in place.  I decided to use a slide grip lock clamp on the slide to lock it in place.

Thanks again.  As a new 2003 Beaver owner, I love this forum to workout little things I'm encountering during my first days as a full time RV dweller.

To copy Steve's commentary, welcome to the group Michael.  And I know you've already implemented a fix, but I too use a bungee under the table while traveling.  It's quick and simple, relatively hidden, and keeps the thing from moving during cornering.
