Many years ago, my wife and I went through a very rough time financially and persevered.
She would ask me how I could deal with all this adversity.
I simply told her it's an Inner Strength in me that helps me get through.
The next morning I got up and wrote this to her while she slept. I left a copy of it for her to read. it was called INNER STRENGTH.
This poem has since been shared with many many people I have met and has been sent all over the world I'm told. It has been published in two books.
It's simply about being thankful for what we have in our lives and not dwell too heavily on the issues. Put them into perspective. Start the healing.
Somehow we all have to get through our strife, but if any of these words below resonate with anyone, use it, share it and be thankful for all the good in your life that has been, is and is yet good to come.
Inner Strength
There are times like these,
You could drop to your knees,
As you wonder how much you can take
.
But as some people know,
with their troubles in tow,
there is always a choice
they can make.
To drown in our sorrows,
saps up our tomorrows,
and makes everything in our lives
seem bleak.
So, just count your blessings
and not your misgivings,
and somehow you'll not feel so weak.
Just change what you can,
put the rest on a shelf,
and keep misery at an arm's length.
For it's the wealth of those
who can conquer their woes,
that's the secret to "Inner Strength!"
