Five stars for Nationwide
« on: February 19, 2015, 02:05:41 PM »
As some of you know by now that we have totaled our coach. We were going to visit friends in South Carolina via I-95 north and the front left tire blew sending us across three lanes of traffic, then hit a guard rail. If it weren't for the guard rail we would have hit the oncoming traffic. I would like to mention that Nationwide Insurance and Overton Insurance were very courteous, professional and great to work with, we would highly recommend them if your thinking about changing. We thought this would be a horrible experience, but is was not. We have to thank God for three things. We did not get hurt ( including the bird ), that we didn't hurt anyone else, and for wearing seat belts. Were not looking for a coach right now. That would be good news for no one will be arrested in the Eastern division for Carol is the sheriff. I miss you guys, I'll se ya soon. Jim

Jim, We are SO glad to hear you and Carol are safe!!
Did you have the Steer Safe or Safety Plus or something similar on the coach?

So glad to hear that you are both ok.  Will you join us in DeLeon Springs in March?  Would be great to see you both.  We are in Clermont until the end of March.

Jim-
Glad you are ok...I took my family on a similar wild ride last year after a left front steering blowout on a two lane raised levee road with 15 ft drops into the California Delta on either side.   Luckily I was able to regain control and bring the coach to a stop with the very little damage just feet before flying off the levee and into the water.

We're you able to figure out what caused your blowout?  Tire age or wear, air pressure, coach weights?  Also did you have any type of TPMS system on the tires to give you any warning the blowout was coming?

Matthew: Sound like your ride topped ours. Yes we had tire sensors, but when the tire blew we lost all electrical and brake lines, so we didn't hear any alarms. Tires were three years old. Jim
