Xantrex Freedom SW - Since Wave Inverter / Charhger
« on: February 28, 2015, 10:07:29 PM »
GOOD DAY my BEAVER FANS! I took my Beaver Montery with a 400 CAT into Peterson CAT (Columbia Blvd. Portland, OR) for annual oil change, generator oil/filter change, tranny check, engine belts - check...I had to have the house battery'd replaced and the terminal of the coach battery's cleaned and filled with distilled water...when I got in coach the floor slider was stuck. When I got home I plugged into 30 amp, but the step would not go in or out, no lights and the step out would not come in. I finally figured checked the switch in the battery compartment was off. I turned it on and went back to check and the lights came on, but the Xantex panel WAS NOT LIT.

ANYBODY KNOW WHAT TO DO?  PLEASE HELP.

Thank you, KC Snellgrove

KC,
Verify that the 12V disconnect switch (salesman switch) inside the coach is on. Mine is on the front  panel at the front steps. This may not be the problem since your lights (I assume the interior 12v ones) are on but worth checking. If the floor slider you referred is the interior step cover; mine is driven by air so it's possible that you didn't initially have enough air pressure built up after they serviced it.

I'm not familiar with Xantrex, Steve, but shouldn't KC try resetting his inverter?  Apparently the Petersen tech shut things down to disconnect and clean battery posts and forgot to kick the House side back on.  But he may have goofed and not disconnected the House Main until after he arced a cable, perhaps bouncing the inverter.

Just grabbing at straws.

Joel,
You are right. I didn't think of that. Not sure of his inverter model. I think the reset on the panel is just for error codes and probably not functional if there is no power to the unit.

Following is from Gerald : http://beaveramb.org/forum/index.php/topic,3857.msg29717.html#msg29717
"Assuming that you still have the original ProSine inverter, to reset the inverter, you unplug shore power, and disconnect the negative cable to the house batteries for at least 30 seconds. Then reconnect the battery cable, and reconnect the shore power. This should erase the inverter faults and reset it."

In order for the remote panel inside the coach to work the on off switch on the inverter itself has to be turned off. Maybe the service tech turned it on by mistake.
