Flexible Exhaust Pipe
« on: March 30, 2015, 04:17:14 AM »
The flexible exhaust pipe that runs between the muffler and my 2006 C9 engine has disconnected from the muffler side.  It appears that there has never been hose clamps on either end of the flexible pipe.  In searching the forum there was some discussion of insulation covering this pipe.
Can anyone give me suggestions for reattaching the pipe?  What holds it in place?  Also, am I missing insulation?
Any insight is most appreciated.  I am in the Denver area, if I need an exhaust shop, any suggestions.

Dennis,

I do not know what diameter of exhaust pipe you have, measure the size and get a Easy Seal Band clamp (doesn't have to be Easy Seal brand) for that size of pipe and you can put it together and tighten up the clamp with a socket wrench. You can probably get the clamp at a local Napa store or any truck parts store.

Our 2005 c9 has a 5"  flex and is welded.  Band clamp will work but I recommend going back to original  (welding).
