Tow Plug Connection

 A piece of the tow plug connection at the rear of our 2006 Monterey has cracked and broken off along with the covering flap.  It is a 7 blade 4 plug female connector
  Does anyone know what I should use as a replacement for the wiring harness or who the original harness was manufactured for?
 I would like to find a replacement harness that can just be swapped out and plugged in but I can splice in a different wiring harness if  necessary.

Gary,
I'm pretty sure that it is a standard combo plug that is available at Wal-Mart, Amazon or any auto parts store. Hopkins is probably the major supplier.

Gary, It is just a standard 7 Way plug that every truck in the country uses. You take the plug apart and the wires are all color coded. Remove one wire at a time in install it in the new one and tighten up the screw.
Mine was coated with silicone to help keep the water out, but you can just peel that off.

  I saw the seal where the wires enter the  plug and did not try to peal the seal out. If the seal does not come out I can just cut the   wires off. I have enough slack in the wiring harness to do that.

Yes, you can do that. Wire colors should be the same between the old and new unit. Some of the replacement units have a rubber boot instead of a seal so you can run the wires through the boot and attach them to the proper terminals using the screw lugs on the end of each connector.

When I replaced mine the wire color did not match the standard schematic for wiring these plugs. Before you cut the wires I would test to see what color went to which pin on the receptacle.
