Hello,

Wondering if anyone can advise a good sources for drapes for the front of my coach; also can you advise how measurements are taken to get proper length and drop, also any advice on if keeping a single panel or going to multiple panels.

Any help would be appreciated.

You might give Beaver Coach Sales in Bend a call as they have just hired someone who not only does upholstery but should also be able to make the drapes, curtains, or surround covers for most coaches.

Appreciate it is hard to determine best method; Mike at Beaver Coach Sales estimated around $800 to have them made plus shipping.  Might just go to upholstery shop local to see if I can have mine duplicated.

As many other Beaver owners before, we contacted Elaine in Redmond, OR for replacing our front, motorized drapes. She was in the sewing department at the Beaver factory and most probably sewed your original drapes. She sent us a large bound sample selection to choose from. In the coach, we were able to quickly find a fabric that matched the interior perfectly. She's less expensive than what is being mentioned above and did an excellent job. Her phone number is 541-316-1477.

Probably too late... But since we have  started making our own drapes instead of outsourcing them the the price would be $450 depending on fabric. Please call Sean in service at Beaver Coach Sales (541-322-2184) if you still have an interest.

Thanks,

Ty

Thanks TY and I had called you guys and I am sure Mike was guessing but said around 800 bucks the concern was if I spend that much I might as well get MCD Shades installed.

Thanks though I will check with Sean.

Corey, I gave a set of mirror travel covers to Ty and he was going to have his shop look into making these for the Velcro mirrors. I hope to see them soon the folks at MCD will not make them any more.

I would be interested in that too I was thinking about ordering from www.rvquickshades.com since I already have the inside screens for cockpit and work really well they also make covers for the wipers and mirrors.  I would love to compare price.

Hey Bill, I just want to second this great source for replacing front drapes. Our 12 year old drapes were creating a dust storm every time we opened or closed them so decided it’s time replace them.  I contacted Elaine Hakkila and ordered a replacement set.  I just received them today and was quite impressed.  The quality, workmanship, and fast service was superb.  The cost was $450 plus $25 shipping.  Here’s a picture (with a few wrinkles) as they just came out of the shipping box.  For anyone else that is interested, her email address is: elainehakk14@gmail.com.  James

I took mine to a cleaner recommended by a rv renovation outfit. They came back clean but had lost most of the shape and wrinkled easily after that.

Stan,
We had ours dry cleaned in both our old Patriot, and most recently this spring, in our Marquis.  Both times they turned out great!  The only problem we had was in the way the motorized Marquis drapes were wired.  The wires are actually sewn inside the top of the drape.  The dry cleaners were nervous about that, as were we, so our only choice was to somehow remove it, and then replace it, without damage.  After we figured that out it was easy peasy!
When we hung them back up they seemed to be kind of "plumped" up and we had to help them along to travel the curves better but after a while they "slimmed" down again and are now very nice!

Thank you for the replies regarding dry cleaning. I suspect they charged by the pleat? Yes?
