We'll be traveling to Oregon in August, for the first time from Tahoe to Bend via 395 /139/ 97 then on to Newport and then south along the coast for 6 weeks spending 4 to 5 nights at each location any thoughts about roads, camp sites, reservations, attractions and food would be greatly appreciated. We love King salmon.

Steve
Welcome in advance to the Pacific NW.  We are from Port Angeles in western Washington.  Problem with being from this area is its hard to go somewhere else.  If you stop with Oregon and turn south you will be missing beautiful costal beaches the only rainforest in the US, a ferry ride to Canada for the day, Sekiu and Clallam bay where seafood rolls in all year.  Mountains and glaciers.
For Oregon, I sure liked Seven Feathers Casino RV park in Canyonville or Rising River in Roseburg.  I always suggest folks get to know the people at Beaver Coach sales i  Bend (Ty and Jodi) are owners and everyone are just good folks.
Have a great trip.

Steve, if you are a golfer look at Mallard Creek in Lebanon, OR.  We spend 2 months there enjoying a great park and golf.

My favorite place to set up close to the ocean surf and beach is a youth church camp.  Surf fishing for perch works.  It is not advertised or signed for RV rentals.  When they are not having youth retreats, they welcome $30 (?) donations in exchange for camp sites.  We've stayed there when it has been only a few rigs.  Hook ups are 30 amps and they don't like liquor or dogs.  The Google Maps picture speaks for itself.

Steve,

I see you have an appointment here at Beaver Coach Sales in August!  You are very welcome to hang out here at Camp Beaver as long as you want.  Please stop in and see me when you get here, and I would be happy to fill you in on all of my favorite restaurants etc...  I would also love to give you a tour of our facility, and show off all of our new departments and equipment!  I am super proud of what we have going on here this summer!

Look forward to seeing you soon!

When you're in Bend, give me a shout. I'd love to meet a fellow Beaver owner.

Steve,

I thought I'd posted to this thread but don't see mine.  If you're looking for a place to stay after Sept 14 in Newport, we have availability at our lot at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort.  Just get in touch with me via this forum email.
