RVA jack + hydraulic slide
« on: June 22, 2015, 02:11:51 AM »
Encountered a strange problem yesterday and today. When I depress the slideout switch the front RVA jack (3 point system) extends before the slideout will open or close, Under normal conditions slideouts operate with the ignition turned off and the jacks will only operate with the ignition switch turned on. Any thoughts as to what might cause this? KInd of acts like a shorted Zener diode, but where?

Keith:

I've never encountered that particular problem and don't consider myself expert enough to offer advice.  But Dennis (the owner of RVA) is a good guy and probably can tell you instantly what is wrong.  I'd give him a call.   http://rvajacks.com/

Apparently, the RVA jacks and the hydraulic slide out share a common motor and hydraulic reservoir. The problem turned out to be caused be two extend valves stuck open.once the extend valve cores for both the left rear jack and the front jack were replaced. As an aside, when the manual retract is opened the slide out won't extend or retract
