Two little goofy questions
« on: July 20, 2015, 02:57:08 AM »
1.  I cannot find a switch for hazard lights on my '99 Contessa.  Can it be that this coach is not so equipped?

2.  What is the function of the small plastic tabs on the exterior bottom of each window?  They seem to fall off easily when I'm washing the coach.

Thanks,

Larry

Not sure on question 1.

Question 2, I believe are small shields for the window drain in the bottom track. Keeps insects out but allows water to dribble out of the window channel.

2. "Weeping hole covers" I believe is what they are called.  They are certainly not necessary, but (again) I believe they cut down on the noise from the fast air moving across the weeping holes.

Larry,

Question #1. I think the emergency flasher is located on the steering column below the steering wheel.  I small button kind of thing (dark red color) that you pull to turn on the flasher and push to turn off.

Re. #2 - Les and David are both right.  They impede insects a little, but mostly they cut down on whistling noise from passing air.  Many, including myself, have found a noticeable change in wind noise when installing them over the open weep holes of the driver's and copilot's side windows where the covers had been missing unnoticed for awhile.

The weep hole covers do come off easily, especially as they age.  Replacements unfortunately come in different sizes and commonly are designated for the right or left side of the coach so any streamlined end is facing the front.  They can be found online and often at RV dealerships, but be sure you're getting the right ones for your specific coach/window mfr., and order several of each, left and right, for future replacements.
