Stupid newbie stunt ~ Fuel tank cap

96 Monterey, Magnum Blue streak Chassis

OK guys... last Sunday we went for a ride in our new toy.  A couple towns south of here, we pulled up to the fuel pump and as I fixated on the questionable parking brake, I drove off and left my Fuel tank cap sitting on the pump.  >:(

I feel silly ~ can anyone tell me what "Style" this thing was? I recall it being a very common cap but need a little more data to go to the parts store and search.

thanks,
John

John I dopn't see your location I think you may be able to get a cap at NAPA or even at NW RV Parts in Springfield. BCS in Bend would also have one.

Take the one from the filler on the other side and match at any Auto Parts store.  Try Auto Zone, part# 6817.

John, don't feel too bad.  My first job when I was 14 years old was working at a gas station back in the days when someone actually filled your tank and washed your windshield.  I lasted a day!  I kept forgetting to put people's caps back on when I was done.  The owner came out and asked why I had 8 gas caps on pumps?  I told him I was saving them in case the owner came back!  I did better on my next job!
Have fun!
