Hazed headlight cleaning option
« on: November 23, 2015, 05:04:44 PM »
While reading another RV website (can't remember which one), it was mentioned using Deep Woods Off with Deet on a rag cleared the headlights right up, followed with 303 protectant.

I thought what do I have to lose?  I was thinking about ordering new one's anyway.  I went out and tried it, amazing, very easy to do, a couple minutes of rubbing and they looked like new.  So easy, but makes me wonder what we are putting on our skin.

I was careful not to get it on any paint, and still have to buy the 303 protectant that helps it stay nice longer.

Without the 303 Protectant, I found that it would last about one year.  This year when I redo them with the OFF, I will follow up with the 303.  I just use the wipe on Off that comes in a packet.

You can find some great U tube on headlight retoration, from what I have seen I would not use the bug spray http://www.mozzierepellent.com/using-bug-spray-to-clean-headlights-warning/

Turtle Wax sells a kit for this purpose that has worked great for me.
