Replacement Bay Doors
« on: February 10, 2016, 04:57:43 AM »
Unfortunately I had an accident the other day and damaged 2 bay doors beyond repair.  Is there any place that might have replacements, new or used bay doors that I can tell my RV body shop about?

Thanks all.  Wish I didn't have to ask this.

MJ

P.S.
If anyone has had trouble with the lower hinges on Norcold 1200 series breaking I had the same thing happen and found a fix instead of buying an expensive replacement.  I'll port is the near future.

MJ,
Try http://en.visonerv.com/cgi-bin/c/rvsalvagemotorhomes-partingout.pl
I took a  quick look and found they have 3 or 4 Beavers in the 2000-2004 range that they are parting out.

Michael,
If Steve's source for used bay doors does not workout, BCS (Beaver Coach Sales) has a supplier for new bay doors.

BCS (or their sheet metal shop) built a new one for my Monterey...  cost was about $700 plus crating and shipping

Well I got an estimate from BCS for bay doors and was quoted US$1,350.00 each plus shipping.  The body shop doing the repairs went to a local sheet metal fabricator and he made them up for about US$750 each and no delivery costs.  So if anyone needs to have bay doors replaced, I'd recommend checking out local resources.  Nothing against BCS, It all came down to price for me. Repairs should be complete tomorrow with the exception of the Stainless steel accent strips along the bottom of the door.  Thanks to all for the suggestions.   I just wanted to report back with what I did. I'll post before & after pics in a couple of days.
