front roof a/c issue/thermostat
« on: February 26, 2016, 03:16:52 PM »
Hi once again,

I have a brand new issue that just started a week ago. I leave my front thermostat set on Auto and at 83 degrees on cooling.

I am plugged in at home with a 50 amp plug.

Twice in the last week or so I noticed late at night the fan was running so I went out and turned it to off. This just started and has never done that before. The thermostat has been changed to a newer digital Dometic a couple of years ago.

Ideas?

LaMonte,
"Kneejerk" reaction is a faulty t'stat, switching to fan only. Not sure how yours is wired but if you have a fan output on the t'stat, disconnect it when unit is acting up. If fan stops, almost has to be the stat. Better yet, take voltage readings on t'stat outputs when unit is operating normally, then again when it is acting up. If reading are the same t'stat is probably OK.
