Do I have to tell you how I broke the the front trim board on the drivers side slide?

Thanks for not asking.

Now can anyone tell me where I may get a replacement.

I would appreciate any help I can get.

John

John,
The panel boards are often repairable. Ed Buker described the repair to one of his in this post. http://beaveramb.org/forum/index.php/topic,3989.msg30726.html#msg30726
One of the panels (rear of main dvr side slide) was split in our  (new) 07 Contessa when we purchased it. I was able to repair it by removing it, gluing (Gorilla wood glue) the sections as best as I could, then filling in any remaining gaps with Elmers Wood Filler.  Use the "natural" color to ensure it matches after you stain it, sand with 220 grit including surrounding wood so resultant stain and finish will blend in. Then stain the result to match the existing finish. (In the photo the crack is on the left side running diagonally). I had the natural maple interior wood in our 01 Contessa and found that the only way I could get stain to match was to take a drawer to Sherman Williams and have them mix up a match.
If it's too damaged to repair, suggest going to wood supply firm or cabinet shop and having them cut a piece for you. I'm pretty sure wood is alder. With measurements they should be able to match it. Stain and polyurethane it and you're done

Good Luck,
Steve

Steve,

Really nice job. These wood repairs and refinishing are grand experiments in how close you can come. You did well!

Thank you all for the help and info. In my disgust with what I did,  the part was so shattered, I threw it away. Another dumb move.
So I need to have another one made or from a salvage yard.

If any of you know of any wood shops in the Bend, Oregon area that has worked on these Beavers, I would like to see if I can find
one that would make me a new trim board.

I will keep looking and thanks again for your help.

John,
BCS, Coach Masters and RV Outfitters all can do this type of work to my knowledge and have gotten good reviews by members. Suggest you call for prices.

I will attest that the wood shop in BCS is first rate and, for some reason, the wood shop rate is 25% less than the rest of the shop.

Any woodworking hobbyist can create that piece of trim without breaking a sweat.  You might want to drop by your local Woodcraft or Rockler store and ask the counter guy if one of their customers can help you out.  I guarantee it will be a fraction of the cost you'd pay an RV shop.
