Water Bay Heat Exchanger Power
« on: August 22, 2016, 09:51:14 PM »
While replacing the house water pump this AM I noticed the water bay heat exchanger had been seeping antifreeze due to a loose hose connection. Then I saw that the 12V / gnd connector was lying on the floor of the bay where the antifreeze got at it. The connector was shot and the wires were corroded open.  So if the bay heater fired up in cold weather, the only heat would have been that radiated from the hoses. Not good. A couple of wire nuts resolved it. Monaco had neatly coiled all the extra wire and tied it to the bay ceiling but all the electrical connectors (pump and heat exchanger) were left lying on the floor. Takes a couple of tie wraps to elevate them. Might want to check your coach before heading into cold weather.
