solar Issue...I think
« on: October 11, 2016, 07:06:26 PM »
Greeting everyone, Newbie Alert :) I have recently purchased a 1995 Beaver Marquis Sapphire 40' The most recent hurricane revealed a leak on the roof by the front air conditioner. Upon investigating I determined the leak originated from a 14" x 14" panel that was obviously missing some parts. Removal of said panel revealed it had something to do with the solar system, though all the identifying data was missing i was able to make out the name "SOLAREX" and the company "Solar Electric Specialties Co" My coach has three obvious solar panels on the roof, driver side. My understanding is that one panle is for the chassis batery and the other two are for the ocach batteries. The panel in question is located curbside on the roof adjacent to the other panels. Can anyone shed some light on the purpose of the 4th panel. Thanks

Ricky,
I am not aware that Beaver ever used a four solar panel installation, but I have had very little service contact with a 1995 Marquis. There is a good chance that the solar panel was added by a previous owner. My suggestion would be to call Ken Carpenter at BCS (Beaver Coach Sales). He was working for the Beaver factory when your coach was built, and he may know an accurate answer for your question.
