All,

Before I commit to this purchase from the Toledo, Oregon Les Schwab just want to check that the sizes will swap out ok.  Anyone with some tire know how?

I am replacing my Doublecoin 606+ steers with Toyo M144s but those are not available in the same size so its 295/80R22.5 with 16 ply (same as doublecoin and 19/32nds tread same as doublecoin).  Is this going to match up ok?

Thanks Mike

I changed out the Michelin 295/80R22.5 on the steering axle with Dunlop 315/80R22.5 and have plenty of room with the larger tires on.  I changed out the 295s because my coach's front end is too heavy (no safety margin when full of fuel and water) for the 295s.  The tire guy tried on the 315s and we checked their clearance at all the extremes (bags full and bags empty, at both extreme left and right turns to the stops).

The 295s at maximum psi of 120 show a load capacity of 8,250 lbs or so.  The 315s at maximum psi of 130 show a load capacity of 9,090 lbs or so.  Fully loaded with fuel and water our coach's front end weighed about 16,400 lbs... but that was before I reduced the psi downward pressure on the tag axle.

I found all the comparison sizing and made the appointment.  Still looking for my vibration issue so I am having all for drive wheels looked at to make sure wheels are ok.  After replacing the steer tries with a different and more popular brand/make I'll do an alignment if the tires don't resolve the issue.

Mike,
The 295/80 22.5 is the largest tire size that will fit on your SMC built 99 Marquis steer axle. The 315/80 22.5 tire that David is using on his Monaco built 04 Marquis will rub badly on your coach and may even damage your air bag behind the tire.
