Harry, You might want to go to the TECHNICAL heading on the Forum opening page and then to the ASK DAVE area. This is the CAT mechanic that is a Beaver and can help you with that info so it is correct on your engine. If you need to get to Dave you can at dave.e.atherton@gmail.com   605-999-0720

Harry kew, question about adding a adding electric fuel pump using a pickup 7.3 fuel
pump. Yes the 7.3 engine uses the Cat heui system and injectors along with the electric
Fuel pump. The problem you are going to run into is the mating electric fuel pump with
3/8 fuel line fittings on both the suction and pressure side of pump. Your Cat engine is
Equipped 1/2 hydraulic hose with JIC fittings. Second providing the constant fuel flow
being your going to step up to a larger fuel line. I have several Ask about the 7.3 electric
Fuel pump and have installed few but has helped but does not give the results as the
Cat retrofit electric pump and primary fuel filter setup. Dave Atherton Retired Cat Mechanic

Harry Kew, I would recommend the Cat upgrade for the Cat 3126 engine. The parts list
and all information is located in the technical Advice under Ask Dave. Some else last eve
requested same information for Cat C-9. Steve Huber posted how to find the Ask Dave.
The information and parts list is from Caterpillar tech info that Dave sent out and problems
and add on info. for installing system. Dave Atherton Retired Cat Mechanics

Doug Allman noted how to find "Ask Dave" but I'll repeat it here also.
Go to the BAC Web Page http://beaveramb.org  NOT the BAC Forum web page.  Select "Technical Support" from the top menu bar. A drop down menu will appear with one of the selections being "Ask Dave"

I have looked under Ask Dave and have found 4 items
-about Dave
-injector problems
- biodiesel
-c9,poor fuel economy and power

But couldn't find the part list for the cat retrofit electric pump and primary fuel filter
Am I going something wrong  :-\

Looking through the post found part no. 206-5756 and searching the web came up with another no.
232-5877

Part no. 206-5756 comes as a filter base with a priming pump kit

If this is the one they are using can the pump stand continues use or is it just meant for priming the filters
Thank Harry
